SIMONA AG has installed a state-of-the-art injection-moulding line at its plant in Ringsheim, the focus being on the production of plastic pipe fittings weighing up to 210 kg. The machine has a length of 20 metres and weighs more than 200 tons in total; its closing force is 2,300 tons. Ten truck loads were needed to transport the machine to Ringsheim, including several oversized consignments. The new production premises at the Ringsheim plant were completed in 2017. The new injection-moulding line will allow SIMONA AG to respond flexibly to future market requirements. In addition, the company can continue to pursue a highly customer-focused approach as an integral part of its business activities.

SIMONA is acknowledged as one of the leading producers and development partners in the field of thermoplastics. Operating globally, the company produces pipes and fittings at its plant in Ringsheim, the emphasis being on applications within the utilities, infrastructure, industrial and rail transport sector. In 2020, the company will be able to look back on 40 years of successful manufacturing operations in Ringsheim. During a plant visit, Mayor Pascal Weber took a closer look at one of the largest employers in Ringsheim. Head of the Pipes and Fittings division, Helena Lau, and CFO Michael Schmitz discussed the company's plans for the future for this area of the business, which remains on a trajectory of growth in 2019 and is looking to achieve more than €100 million in revenue from new product initiatives by 2022.
