Fluoropolymers: when the going gets tough

The properties of fluoropolymers make them ideal for use in the chemical and electroplating industry, electrical and semiconductor sector, medical and nuclear technology, and power and environmental engineering. SIMONA® fully fluorinated semi-finished products are used primarily in harsh operating conditions.

Products with nitrile backing: safety meets versatility

SIMONA® liner materials offer a high degree of safety for the storage and transport of chemicals and can be used for a wealth of applications. Our wide range of materials is ideal for lining steel vessels/tanks and for GFRP composite structures. The various textiles used in our backing systems create the ideal mechanical bridge between the lining and the carrier material to be protected from corrosion.

Our range of liner materials has been extended to include SIMONA® PVDF-NK and SIMONA® ECTFE-NK with new polyacrylonitrile (PAN) backing. Polyacrylonitriles are semi-crystalline polymers with high strength and rigidity that are resistant to most media as well as light and heat. These products complement our existing range of backing materials and are positioned between our established –SK (polyester backing) and –GK (glass fibre backing) systems.

  • SK – textile bonding agent made of thermoplastic polyester for polyolefins and PVDF
  • GK – textile bonding agent made of three-dimensional stretchable glass fibre for polyolefins and partially and fully fluorinated high-performance plastics
  • AK – textile bonding agent made of aramid for partially and fully fluorinated high-performance plastics
  • PK – bonding agent made of polymer-like textile for PP-C
  • CV – chemical pre-treatment for PVDF

PP-H AlphaPlus®: high heat stability and chemical resistance

The SIMONA® PP-H AlphaPlus® product range offers a material which, as a homopolymer polypropylene (PP-H), has a more pronounced rigidity than copolymer polypropylenes, especially in the higher temperature range (up to +100°C). Thanks to our in-house formulation centred around Alpha-Plus nucleation, we can achieve additional safety margins compared with standard qualities of PP-H.

  • Good long-term characteristics even at high temperatures and against many media
  • High chemical resistance
  • Improved stress crack and heat ageing resistance
  • Improved welding properties
  • Ideal for use in chemical tank and equipment construction

Semicon: flame-retardant and chemical-resistant

FM4910-compliant products are highly flame-retardant and reduce the risk of fire. They are also extremely resistant to aggressive chemicals. Worldwide, SIMONA offers more FM4910-compliant thermoplastic solutions than any other manufacturer.

  • PVC-based, industry-leading FM4910-compliant material
  • High chemical resistance
  • Improved surface finish: higher gloss, greater smoothness
  • Resistant to particle adhesion and easy to clean
  • Can be welded quickly and easily
  • Available for sheet and welding rod
  • High modulus of elasticity and low density
  • Lower heat expansion and contraction
  • Available worldwide via our Global Semicon range (EU, Asia, USA)
  • Combines several solutions and applications such as: process tanks, vessels, wet benches, as well as pipes and fittings for chemical supply/deionization (DI) processes and wastewater treatment

Avoiding friction: with SIMONA® PE 1000 superlining and SIMONA® PE 100 AP-Line (Abrasion Protect)

With its high-performance thermoplastic products, SIMONA offers solutions to material flow, abrasion and wear problems in bulk materials handling. For semi-finished products as well as pipes and fittings, we offer a premium range of products with optimum sliding (anti-friction) characteristics and extremely high wear resistance. Our plastic sheets substantially reduce sliding wear due to bulk solids.

  • Reduced agglomeration or freezing
  • Co-extruded pipes and fittings with interior skin made of a modified polyolefin compound
  • Longer service life due to additional UV-stable coating

05.1

SIMONA® PE 1000 superlining: very good sliding properties and maximum wear and abrasion resistance

SIMONA® PE 1000 superlining offers improved sliding properties and even higher wear and abrasion resistance thanks to a low coefficient of sliding friction and the anti-adhesive properties of the SIMONA® PE 1000 superlining plastic sheets.

  • Very good dynamic friction
  • Light and economical
  • Very high wear resistance and good UV stability
  • Chemical resistance and high corrosion resistance

SIMONA® PE 100 AP-Line “Abrasion Protect” pipe systems: multilayer pipes with abrasion-resistant interior skin

The preferred option for the pneumatic and hydraulic transport of solids: due to their superior properties, SIMONA® PE 100 AP-Line pipe systems withstand the high mechanical loads acting on the interiors of piping systems.

  • Excellent abrasion resistance
  • Outstanding notch impact strength
  • Economic and durable
