Ultimate protection: the PSC pipe system

The PSC pipe system is an intelligent product for the safe discharge of wastewater through water protection zones. PSC stands for PipeSystemControl, a pipe system with integrated, continuous leak monitoring. If the media pipe is damaged, detectors immediately trigger a hazard notification. Feed pumps, for example, can then be switched off and any further discharge of the medium can be minimised. In addition to protecting the soil, the system facilitates precise localisation in the event of a defect thanks to the specific calibration of the sensors. Thus, damage to the pipe can be repaired quickly and efficiently.

In the south of Germany, a test project is underway with a PSC drinking water pipeline spanning a length of around 80 metres.  In the event of a leak, our PSC system reacts immediately and transmits the exact location of the damage.

We offer the customer a comprehensive technical service to ensure a fully functioning system.

Record-breaking protection: the new cable protection system from SIMONA

Transporting renewable energies over long distances represents a major challenge for the future. At the same time, it offers opportunities for innovative drilling, laying and piping methods.

In order to protect its power cables in the context of a record-breaking 2,000 m drilling project, grid operator TenneT opted for a cable protection duct system developed by SIMONA. In addition to ensuring secure power and data transport, it provides protection against environmental influences.

Co-extruded in a diameter of 200 mm with a wall thickness of 25 mm (SDR 8), the pipes were supplied via our partner Profilplast Pipesystems.

  • Location: Tilburg, NL
  • Project details: 32 km above-ground high-voltage grid connection replaced by buried system
  • More than 14 km of temperature-resistant pipes laid
  • Trenchless installation for lower environmental impact and maintenance costs
  • For the first time, a new drilling method developed by drilling technology specialist Herrenknecht was used as part of this project
  • The project received the 2022 GSTT Award (GERMAN SOCIETY FOR TRENCHLESS TECHNOLOGY E. V.)
