The six Rs – Reduce, Replace, Reuse, Retain, Recycle, Rebalance – provided the basis for the stand concept. More than 90% of the exhibition stand consists of modular and reusable materials that can be utilised not only for this trade fair but also for future appearances by the company. SIMONA also used ecological plastics from the EcoPlastIQ product line, particularly in the sustainability lounge that formed part of the exhibition stand. Here, the focus was on showcasing SIMONA's commitment to sustainability in visual terms.

SIMOClearDuct: a new era for the installation of cable ducts

However, the absolute highlight presented by the company at this year's IFAT is SIMOClearWeld Technology. It sets new standards in the field of cable protection for underground distribution grids. The technology is based on an innovative welding process that precisely joins cable ducts together without leaving inner beads protruding into the duct – a negative side effect of conventional welding processes. These inner beads usually have to be laboriously removed to ensure smooth cable entry and pull-through.

With SIMOClearWeld Technology, the pipe ends are machined to create a recess as a seating for the bead – protrusion into the pipe is a thing of the past. This eliminates the need to remove the interfering inner beads within the pipe, translating into significant time and cost savings for contractors.

The tremendous potential of SIMOClearWeld technology, encompassing a SIMOClearWeld welding machine and the corresponding SIMOClearDuct pipes, is plain to see: significant efficiency gains in the construction of cable protection routes and thus faster execution of renewable energy projects.
