SIMONA at ACHEMA 2015
Products
Kirn. The focus of SIMONA AG, a leading manufacturer of thermoplastics and an established development partner within this field, at this year's ACHEMA trade fair will be on SIMODUAL².
The new industrial double-containment piping system for the safe transport of aggressive substances, together with other recently developed products for safety-specific applications and sustainable piping systems, will also be presented in an interactive form to those attending the trade fair.
SIMODUAL² Industrial Double-Containment Pipes – standardised end-to-end system for safe handling of aggressive substances
One of the unique features of the SIMODUAL² Double-Containment Piping System is the ability of the protective pipe to withstand full pressure loads, thus also ensuring process stability in the event of an incident. The anchor points are secured by mechanical means rather than being welded, which helps to reduce the installation time and, ultimately, costs. Alongside the pipe modules, SIMONA supplies a complete range of fittings in a twin-wall design. Both the media-carrying pipe and the protective pipe are available in a wide range of PE and PP material combinations. Visitors to the SIMONA exhibition stand can explore the benefits of the new double-containment piping system as part of a live presentation.
SIMONA® Plastics used in industrial waste air management
SIMONA® PPs and PE-EL Piping Systems combine the advantages of superior operational safety and tailor-made material properties for applications in the field of industrial waste air management. SIMONA supplies ventilation pipes for the food, pharmaceutical and chemical industry – in a wide range of sizes from d 32 to 1,000 mm.
SIMONA® PVDF-CV Pipes – long service life of compound system
Industrial plant engineering has been faced with a growing trend towards higher pressure ratings and temperatures as well as more highly concentrated chemicals. Laminated pipes are capable of meeting the more stringent safety requirements applicable in this area. The chemically pretreated surface (CV) is resistant to hydrolysis as well as many low-molecular-weight acids or bases. What is more, it does not have to be removed prior to welding. The low-stressed PVDF pipes can be laminated directly thanks to thermal post-treatment. The longer diffusion path generally results in an extended service life of the compound system (compared with glass fibre backing).
SIMONA® Short Bends with longer spigots – optimised design
As of now, the short injection-moulded SIMONA® PE 100 and PP-H AlphaPlus® Bends in d 20 - 160 mm will be supplied in a new design featuring longer spigots. This new design encompasses pressure classes SDR 17.6/17/11. The longer spigots combine the benefits of safe and reliable welding in a compact design. SIMONA® Short Bends can thus be used in confined spaces. The short bends are compliant with DIN EN 12201-3 and EN ISO 15494.
SIMONA® Bioplastics
Bioplastics are used primarily in the packaging industry, e.g. for the production of yoghurt pots. However, as an alternative to conventional plastics, finished parts made of biopolymers can also be used in more sophisticated areas of industrial application – while meeting the most exacting standards. With an extensive R&D programme in place, SIMONA has introduced a new product group for bioplastics, by the name of SIMOGREEN. It encompasses polymers such as PLA (polylactic acid), Bio-PE, Bio-PETG and Bio-Polyamide 6.10. Bioplastics offer a number of advantages with regard to performance and sustainability in manufacturing.
