Kirn. This year, for the first time, SIMONA AG will be exhibiting at fensterbau/frontale – the world's leading trade fair for the window, door and facade industry – in Nuremberg (26 - 29 March 2014).

SIMONA will be showcasing three product groups (SIMOSHIELD, SIMOFLOOR and SIMOWOOD) tailored to applications in the field of structural engineering.

SIMONA® SIMOSHIELD encompasses a range of PVC-T sheets with a visible and palpable woodgrain finish. They have been developed specifically for the door fabrication industry and are equipped with an IR-reflective decorative foil.

In SIMONA® SIMOFLOOR, SIMONA has developed a solution designed specifically for flooring production. SIMOFLOOR is used as a core material on to which a vinyl surface is placed in laminate flooring. As the moisture-resistant material shows no signs of swelling when exposed to water, it is also perfect for damp-room applications.

All-new SIMONA® SIMOWOOD sheets made of Resysta® are a genuine alternative to wood-based products. The polymer containing a biological filler based on rice husks is extruded into sheets that are processed in such a way as to provide the appearance and haptic properties of wood. In contrast to conventional items made from wood, the moisture-resistant products show no signs of swelling when exposed to water. Furthermore, they are weather-proof and offer the benefit of anti-slip properties when wet. This makes the material suitable not only for indoor but also for outdoor use – while also conserving valuable resources.

Like wood, SIMOWOOD sheets can be sawn, drilled, painted and sanded. Thanks to the properties of the material, they are also suitable for individual thermal processing. The sheets can be used for a wide range of applications, such as wall and facade panels, fences, outdoor furniture, interior car finishes, sanitary fittings and flooring as well as products used in shipbuilding.

SIMONA will present its SIMOWOOD product range at fensterbau/frontale 2014. The portfolio includes sheets in formats measuring 2,000 x 1,000 mm and 2,500 x 1,250 mm, in thicknesses ranging from 1 to 8 mm.
