Kirn. SIMONA AG, a leading manufacturer of thermoplastic products, will be unveiling several new products at IFAT 2016 (30 May to 3 June 2016 in Munich), the focus being on applications within the area of repair/rehabilitation and water treatment. In addition to showcasing its expertise as a specialist in customised solutions, the company will also be presenting a wide range of shaft installations for various fields of application.

This year's highlights:

SIMONA® Injection-Moulded Bends with long spigots d 450/500 mm

Following a substantial investment in new equipment, we have extended the range of SIMONA® Injection-Moulded Bends to include products in d 450 mm and d 500 mm for pressure classes SDR 11/17 and 17.6. The new fittings are available in PE 100 and PP. One of the key benefits is that the new injection-moulded bends are also supplied with long spigots. This makes SIMONA the first plastics manufacturer to offer a range of fittings in these dimensions that are suitable for joining by means of electrofusion sockets.

SIMONA® PE 100 Extruded Ovoid Pipes

SIMONA will be presenting the world's first extruded ovoid pipe made of PE 100 in the dimensions d 220 mm x 320 mm (DN200/300) – without any restrictions in terms of length. Thanks to the method of direct extrusion, the pipe length can be determined in accordance with project requirements. This makes for a more efficient and cost-effective approach, as welding procedures can be scaled back significantly. The ovoid pipe is manufactured from PE 100, either entirely in black or grey. SIMONA supplies an extensive range of standard and customised designs.

SIMONA® PP Interconnecting Modules for Tight-in-Pipe method (TIP)

Our product range within the area of repair/rehabilitation has been extended to include short interconnecting modules with a higher level of material-specific rigidity. The smooth connector featured in the new range of SIMONA® PP Interconnecting Modules is the perfect choice for trenchless repair projects using existing shaft installations or excavation pits in conjunction with TIP lining or single-pipe lining with an annular space. The pipe modules are available in diameters from d 192 mm to approx. 980 mm.

SIMONA® Internal Saddles

The newly developed SIMONA® Internal Saddles have been produced specifically for the trenchless connection between a sewer and PE/PP lining pipes. The new internal saddles are joined by applying the method of top-hat profiles or pressure grouting.

SIMONA® PE 100 AP-Line Abrasion Protect

The SIMONA® PE 100 AP-Line Abrasion Protect System represents the latest generation of coextruded pipes and fittings with an abrasion-resistant interior. The pipes and fittings are used primarily for the hydraulic and pneumatic transport of abrasive solids. Their notch and impact resistance is substantially higher than that of standard PE 100.

Specialist shaft installations and pressurised piping shafts engineered by SIMONA

Drawing on the expertise of its in-house plastics workshop, SIMONA is able to supply preassembled system solutions in the form of shaft/manhole installations for concrete shafts as well as monolithic thermoplastic shafts – an alternative to solutions featuring stainless steel. Among the benefits of these designs are superior quality, flexibility and cost-effective design. What is more, plastic pipes can be joined directly to the shaft exterior (without external flanges and without offset), and the entire shaft structure can be installed quickly and efficiently.
