SIMONA expands its product range with sheets made of SIMONA® PC/ASA
Products
SIMONA® PC/ASA is a thermoplastic based on a polycarbonate and a copolymer of acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA), also called acrylic styrene acrylonitrile.
SIMONA® PC/ASA sheets can be hot-formed within a broad temperature range with uniform wall thickness distribution. Among the key benefits of SIMONA® PC/ASA sheets are a high temperature of continuous use together with a high heat deflection temperature and excellent toughness even at sub-zero temperatures.
Therefore, SIMONA® PC/ASA sheets are suitable for extreme outdoor and exterior applications, such as facing components, roofs, roof boxes and vehicle wind control systems (cars, trucks and caravans).
SIMONA® PC/ASA sheets offer exceptional UV stability as well as a high level of thermal resistance and extreme resistance to weather conditions and ageing. What is more, SIMONA® PC/ASA sheets can be painted and can even (as a coextruded sheet) be supplied with a particularly high level of UV protection.
SIMONA® PC/ASA sheets are suitable for various thermoforming methods as well as LFI (Long Fibre Injection) processing.
Key advantages:
- Outstanding deep-drawing properties
- Significant reduction in cycle times during thermoforming
- No cracking
- UV and weather stability
- High heat deflection temperature
- Suitable for broad temperature range from –20°C to +90°C
- Excellent handling and processing (gluing, laminating, trim-ming, painting, ...)
