Kirn, 17 October 2023. After 12 months of construction, the SIMONA Group officially opened its new plant in China as part of a special event organised for its customers. The new plant located at the production site in Jiangmen in the south of China is to be seen as a milestone when it comes to achieving the Group's growth targets in the Asia-Pacific region. The new building extends the site's total production floor space to 20,000 sqm. Overall production capacity at the site has been close to doubled as a result of the plant expansion. Production at the new plant is focused primarily on thermoplastic pipes and solid rods for industrial applications. The production lines boast a high degree of automation. Prototyping, production, warehousing and logistics have been brought together under one roof, thus raising efficiency levels and reducing energy consumption.
"The new plant in Jiangmen is an impressive testament to the importance of Asia for SIMONA's growth strategy and affirms our commitment to the region. This investment underscores our consistent focus as well as our confidence in the Asian market," explained Shaobin Wang, CEO Asia-Pacific at SIMONA. "It also demonstrates that the key to success in a dynamic and highly competitive market is flexibility with regard to the expectations and needs of our customers," Wang added.
"Once again, our Asia-Pacific team has delivered outstanding results. Operating on time and within budget, and displaying above-average levels of productivity, they have doubled capacity here at the site through the plant expansion. Thanks to the new plant, we will be able to broaden our product portfolio and meet customer requirements in an even more bespoke manner, thus accelerating growth in the region," said Matthias Schönberg, CEO of the SIMONA Group.
