This sense of responsibility forms the basis of SIMONA's sustainability strategy, the aim of which is to make products, production and processes sustainable and to promote employee appreciation. Active environmental protection and efforts to support biodiversity are an integral part of this approach.

Committed to protecting local biodiversity and promoting the pollination of crops and wild plants, SIMONA has set up five bee colonies in Kirn in collaboration with a company by the name of Business Biene. As part of this project, 200,000 bees are helping to boost pollination in the region, thus contributing to improved biodiversity. As an added bonus, these industrious little helpers will also beautify the flowers in the neighbourhood and provide plenty of honey.

Bees are the undisputed champions of biodiversity. They are responsible for pollinating around a third of the foodstuffs we consume every day. In other words, without bees there would be no delicious apples, succulent tomatoes or crunchy almonds. Honey-sweetened baked goods would be unthinkable without their hard work.

In launching this buzzing campaign, SIMONA aims to draw attention to the importance of bees and the urgent need to safeguard biodiversity.
